Mr Alexandre Giorgini

Consul General of France
in Hong Kong and Macau

French GourMay Food & Wine Festival, organized by Business France and in partnership with French May Arts Festival and Consulate of France in Hong Kong & Macau, has been one of the largest French gourmet festivals in Asia since its inception in 2009.

France is the first country to have its gastronomy placed on UNESCO’s list of the world's intangible heritages. Every year in May, we deliver the finest wines and delicacies from a designated region of France to Hong Kong and Macau for a whole month.

Despite the challenging situation, French GourMay embraces its 12th edition this year. As French three Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno said, “Gastronomy has become global, and it is important that French cuisine is carried by chefs”. We would like to thank and support our partners over the years; to invite everyone to share “joie de vivre” (Joy of Life) by exploring French gastronomic heritages through the lens of surrealism with our extensive network of partners (restaurants, retail shops, importers and educational institutes in Hong Kong and Macau.

In addition, the authentic French Traditional Gourmet Market will be back in Nina Tower of the bustling Tsuen Wan district from May 28 – 30. Join us to enjoy performances curated by French May Arts Festival and shopping experience presented by French GourMay Food & Wine Festival.

A très bientôt! See you soon!

Mr Dane Cheng

Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board

Message from Mr Dane Cheng, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, to French GourMay 2021

To promote Hong Kong’s rich arts and culture offerings, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) launches “Arts in Hong Kong” in May. French GourMay 2021 is one of the highlights that the HKTB supports.

With its theme echoing the “Art of Flavours” programme under “Arts in Hong Kong”, French GourMay 2021 takes us through a food-art journey by pairing gourmet with a taste of surrealism from art masters including Pablo Picasso, René Magritte and Salvador Dalí. For every type of foodie, this unconventional artistic gastronomic event will have something to satisfy your appetite.

Art and food can bring people closer together spiritually and emotionally. I would like to thank Business France and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau for organising this spectacular event, which reaches all walks of life. French GourMay 2021 has certainly added to the variety of Hong Kong’s art and cultural scene, and continues to strengthen Hong Kong’s status as an international culinary paradise and art hub.

Arts and culture are among the core experiences that the HKTB strives to promote. Therefore, I would like to extend my invitation to every art and food lover to embark on the multicultural adventure of “Arts in Hong Kong” and savour the delights offered in French GourMay 2021. I am confident that, resonating with the objective of the HKTB’s “Holiday at Home” platform, the experience from “Arts in Hong Kong” and French GourMay 2021 will allow you to discover Hong Kong’s beauty more deeply and passionately.
